Grappling Jiu Jitsu
The basics of grappling techniques. Learn how to grapple from a standing position, as well as from a ground position.
Grappling Techniques for Beginners
Grappling is an effective way to defend yourself against attackers. It involves using your hands, feet, knees, elbows, and head to strike, block, or control your opponent.
The Standing Position
To start off, you should stand up straight with your arms at your sides. This will help you maintain balance while striking. Next, raise one arm above your head and use it to push down on your opponent’s chest. Then, bring your other hand down and punch your opponent in the face.
The Ground Position
Once you’ve learned how to grapple from a standstill, you’ll need to move into the ground position. From there, you’ll be able to strike your opponent more effectively.
